Our Technology

Modern advancements in Endodontic technology allow us to perform root canal treatment more comfortably, efficiently, and predictably than ever before. The future of Endodontics is all here at Boutique Endodontics. We use this technology routinely to give our patients the highest rates of success.

3D Imaging

3D dental imaging is performed with cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT. We have a top of the line Carestream CBCT in office, so your imaging is taken and interpreted on site during your appointment. Because this machine is made for dentistry, it captures a small volume of the upper and lower jaw, which allows us to use much smaller doses of radiation than traditional medical CT machines, while still providing high quality images.

These 3D images are more sensitive than traditional dental xrays, which allow us to find pathology earlier. They provide an accurate model of the tooth, so we can plan treatment before we even touch the tooth. Being able to anticipate the internal anatomy of the tooth makes treatment more effective, efficient, and predictable.

Surgical Microscope

The Global Surgical Microscope is an invaluable tool in our practice. A microscope provides significant magnification and illumination at a level that is not possible with any other tool. This allows better visualization of the internal anatomy of the tooth, leading to higher success rates and more efficient treatment.

Laser Activated Irrigation

The newest, and perhaps the most exciting technological advancement in modern Endodontics, lasers have brought our specialty into the future. Using laser energy in the root canal cleans the canal space and kills bacteria more effectively than any other technique or chemical. The laser is fast, safe, and incredibly powerful. This allows for more efficient and effective cleaning. So your root canal is faster, more comfortable, and more effective. An additional benefit of this increased cleaning power is that it allows us to make a smaller opening in the tooth. Minimally invasive access and canal preparation means the you keep more of your natural tooth structure and the tooth retains more of its strength. As a result, teeth are more fracture resistant and can last longer than we have ever seen when we were using the old-fashioned, aggressive, overly tapered preparations.

Our laser is made specifically for root canal treatment. It is specially designed to clean in the canal safely and effectively.
